Based in our London office, Luca Sportelli is a Partner in the Firm’s Real Estate Practice. Luca focuses on private equity real estate transactions on behalf of leading international fund sponsors. He has advised clients such as Blackstone, KKR, Northwood, Boreal and Optimum on a wide range of complex domestic and cross border acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures across the real estate sector.

Luca’s work highlights include:

• Pure Data Centres’ (an Oaktree portfolio company) 50:50 joint venture with SEGRO to create a £1 billion data centre in London
• KKR’s joint venture with Baupost to acquire a portfolio of 33 Marriott hotels form ADIA 
• Blackstone’s sale of its iconic asset in Milan, Montenapoleone 8, to global luxury group Kering for approximately €1.3 billion
• Blackstone’s $7 billion hyperscale data center development joint venture with Digital Realty
• Blackstone’s sale to GIC of a 35% stake in Hotel Investment Partners, a leading owner of resort hotels in Southern Europe, and related joint venture
• Optimum Asset Management’s partnership with Cipriani to invest in and develop Cipriani-branded properties
• Boreal’s joint venture with Cadillac Fairview to build a €3 billion European logistics portfolio
• Blackstone’ acquisition of Reale Compagnia Italiana via a private sale and subsequent tender offer for a total purchase price of €1.1 billion
• Blackstone and its portfolio company Hotel Investment Partners’ acquisition of six hotels on the islands of Sardinia and Sicily and related joint venture
• Blackstone’s acquisition of a portfolio of logistics assets throughout Europe from Cabot
• Blackstone’s joint venture with Optimum Asset Management investing in a 30 asset real estate portfolio in Germany, valued at approximately €800 million
• Blackstone’s acquisition of a portfolio of over 200 Swedish logistics and industrial assets from Castellum
