Simpson Thacher’s Los Angeles office offers sophisticated transactional and litigation capabilities to our diverse client base. Summer Program

The goal of the Los Angeles office summer program is to introduce you to life at the Firm—our practice, our people and our culture. We provide a wide range of opportunities to experience the diversity of the Firm’s practice, as well as to meet and engage with our attorneys. You will participate in both an initial orientation program, to introduce you to the Firm’s work and culture, and a series of additional training programs and workshops throughout the summer. Our goal for the summer program is to provide you with the opportunity to get to know us, for us to get to know you, for you to begin to discover what kind of attorney you want to be and to give you a realistic view of life as an associate. You will work directly with partners and associates on a variety of active transactions and matters throughout our practice areas. You will also have the opportunity to shadow attorneys during client calls, negotiations and depositions. To provide you with additional guidance during the summer program, you will be paired with an associate and a partner mentor.

Simpson Thacher’s Los Angeles office sponsors social activities throughout the summer that allow you to spend time getting to know our attorneys and your fellow summer associates outside the office and to experience the many attractions of the Los Angeles area. In previous years, Los Angeles summer associates have cheered on the LA Dodgers and Los Angeles Football Club, enjoyed a night at the legendary Magic Castle, spent a day at Disneyland, had dinner and watched an outdoor movie at a partner’s home, and participated in other impromptu activities throughout the course of the summer.
