Kirsten Davis is Senior Counsel in the Firm’s Corporate Department. Kirsten represents issuers and underwriters in both public and private offerings of equity and debt securities and advises both U.S. and non-U.S. clients on general corporate and securities law matters. Kirsten has been recognized among the “Top 100 Women Lawyers” by Latinvex for her capital markets work in the Latin American region (2019 - 2024).

Kirsten L. Davis is Senior Counsel in the Firm’s Corporate Department and a core member of the Firm’s Global Latin America Practice group. Kirsten regularly represents issuers and underwriters in both public and private offerings of equity and debt securities and advises both U.S. and non-U.S. clients on general corporate and securities law matters. Kirsten has been recognized among the “Top 100 Women Lawyers” by Latinvex for her capital markets work in the Latin American region (2019 - 2024).

Kirsten regularly represents major investment banking firms, including BofA, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley and Santander, in equity and investment grade and high yield debt offerings by companies organized in Latin America and the Caribbean, such as América Móvil, Banco Macro, COFIDE, Comisión Federal de Electricidad, Globant, Kimberly-Clark de México and Suzano. Kirsten also advises corporate clients, such as BBVA México, Banco Hipotecario, Bancomext, Braskem, Cementos Pacasmayo, Grupo Axo, IRSA and Nafin, in offerings of equity and debt securities and liability management transactions. Kirsten also represented Telefónica Móviles, Accenture, Companhia de Saneamento Básico do Estado de São Paulo--SABESP and ITC Holdings in their respective initial public offerings in the United States.

Kirsten also regularly advises on sovereign bond offerings and liability management transactions across Latin America and the Caribbean, having recently advised The Republic of Guatemala on nearly $5 billion in sovereign bond offerings, as well as the Republic of Peru on $7 billion in sovereign bond offerings, including the Republic’s first ever issuance of a century bond.

Kirsten graduated from Carleton College and New York University School of Law. Kirsten joined Simpson Thacher in 1998, and is a member of the New York bar. Kirsten is fluent in English and Spanish.

  • Braskem, a global leader in plastics and chemical production, in multiple debt offerings and liability management transactions
  • Initial purchasers and dealer managers in multiple sovereign debt offerings and liability management transactions by The Dominican Republic and The Government of Bermuda
  • Initial purchasers and issuers in multiple sovereign debt offerings by The Republic of Chile, The Republic of Peru and The Republic of Guatemala
  • Initial purchasers in Petroperú’s US$1 billion debt offering
  • Underwriters in multiple equity offerings by Globant S.A.
  • Grupo Axo in its debut US$325 million senior notes offering
