Based in the Firm’s London office, Oliver McBain is a Counsel in the Investment Funds Practice. Oliver’s practice covers a broad range of securitization and structured finance product covering both private and public transactions. Oliver has handled transactions across numerous asset classes, including collateralized fund obligations, rated note fund structures, trade receivables financing, asset-backed borrowing base facilities, collateralised loan obligations (“CLOs”), CLO warehouses and commercial mortgage backed securities.

Prior to joining Simpson Thacher, Oliver spent two years at Citibank supporting the portfolio finance, CLO and warehouse lending desk and 12 months in-house at Goldman Sachs.

  • Represented Deutsche Bank on the first public securitisation of market-place loan
  • Advised leading investment banks in relation to middle market borrowing base facilities

Oliver received his LPC from BPP University, with distinction, and his GDL from City Law School, with honors. He received a B.A. from the London School of Economics and Political Science, with honors.
