Steven Grigoriou is a Partner in the Firm’s Registered Funds Practice, where he advises a wide array of registered funds, business development companies and multinational investment advisers on a broad range of corporate transactions. He regularly represents public funds, fund sponsors, investment advisers, investment banks and other financial institutions on the design, formation and structure of investment funds and products, securities offerings, regulatory and compliance matters, as well as other corporate matters.
Based in the Washington, D.C. office, Steven counsels fund sponsors and underwriters on a variety of equity and debt offerings, such as initial public offerings and secondary offerings, as well as rights offerings and preferred securities offerings. He also advises clients on matters related to Investment Company Act, Investment Advisers Act and Securities Exchange Act compliance, among other regulatory issues. Steven regularly counsels business development companies and registered investment funds, and their boards of directors, in connection with directors’ duties, corporate governance and other regulatory matters.
Steven was recently recognized as a 2021“Rising Star” by Fund Intelligence’s Mutual Funds Industry & ETF Awards. Prior to joining the Firm, Steven represented Apollo Investment Corporation, BlackRock Capital Investment Corporation, BlackRock TCP Capital Corporation, Prospect Capital Corporation and Third Avenue’s mutual fund complex on a wide range of public and private offerings, among other matters.
Steven received his J.D. and an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto in 2008 and B.Comm. from the University of Toronto in 2003. He is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia.
